We go to the beach each year with all of our family. Each year I purchase children's "beach/animal" books to share with my grands. Turtle Island is a fun book and I know they will cherish the memories of reading it together.

Great book!

Turtle Island is a bright and cheerful new book by the gifted author and illustrator, Kevin Sherry. It will delight both kids and adults. The story is imaginative,creative, and down right cute. A true story of friendship which will leave the reader with a smile on their face. It is simply...turtle-ific!

This is an amazing children's book. It teaches about the value of friendship and what meaning friends put in our lives. I highly recommend this book to anyone. My son makes me read it to him every night several times.

This is a beautifully illustrated book that your kids will love again and again. I mean, that's what kids do with great books -- the devour them hundreds of times. Luckily, this one is so well drawn and written that you won't get sick of it. Check out Kevin's other books, especially The Yeti Files.

I LOVE this book. But it made my 2.5 year old really really sad. She always wants to read it, but then cries when the other animals go home to their family and friends.

I bought this book because we were going to Vancouver and Vancouver Island and Whistler and I thought this would have more in-depth information than a large British Columbia travel book. I was disappointed in that it really had little information in it. We do a lot of outdoor activities and there was very little written about hiking trails, details about parks, places to fish. It had information on hotels and shopping and some restaurants but not much else. Don't think I would buy another Fodor's guide if they are all like this

Totally used this for our anniversary trip to this part of the world. GREAT book, a lot of information and pretty right on in its information.

The only tour books I had previously bought were the Hawaii Revealed books (Oahu, Big Island, Maui, and Kauai) and these are so outstanding that the Fodor book seems rather blah. That being said, it's still an acceptable summary of what this area has to offer.

A concise easy to read and use. We found the information to be reliable. When compared to other options it was superior. We found a few gems through Fodor's, which made our visit more special

I was headed to Victoria/Vancouver/Whistler so was glad to find one book containing all three cities. However, only a few pages of the book are devoted to Whistler, which was disappointing. There is a lot to do there and the book could have addressed more of this city. I always buy Fodor books for travel, but this was not my favorite book by them. It has the most information on Vancouver, so be aware of that if you purchase.

One of the best things we learned from the guide was that we could eat in the Legislative dining room in Victoria. It was such a nice change to have white table cloths, good service and very good food at a reasonable price in a very tourist oriented location.

This is one of my favorite Wright bros books for kids. We went through a little Wright brothers binge, and read all we could find on them.The story of the Wright brothers is pretty well hashed out at this point, and for the most part all the books tell the same story, with the same details. What differentiates the books is reading level, how many pictures (they all use the Wright brothers' own photos, so there isn't much variation in quality), and how much engineering details they include.This one is a nice middle ground. The reading is terse enough that early grade school can read it. There aren't a super lot of pictures, but there are some nice side bars that explain some of the background and engineering in a basic way. Of all the ones we've looked at and checked out, I think this is the best I'd suggest for a young engineer who doesn't know much about the Wrights yet.

I added this book to my non-fiction classroom collection. It is a very well written and illustrated timeline of the events in the life of the Wright Brothers. For children who are reluctant readers, there are plenty of illustrations and captions to hold their attention. There is some extraneous content that might distract from the main theme of the book, but overall this a fine book for the 8 to 10 year old age group.

the DK series are ALL just first class! Very informative and easy to read!
