While the map is beautiful and I love the colors, the laminate is so thin, that it ripped (as if I cut it with scissors) when I tried to tack it to the wall. It also came damaged. The box it was in was smashed and the maps have creases where they were smashed in. With the laminate, it made the creases even worse. The packaging could have been better. Something to protect the box from getting smashed or put it in one of those poster rolls! Especially for the money one pays packaging should be better.But besides that, the maps are beautiful. They are large. larger than what I expected even.I just wish for 2 things:Higher quality laminate (something a little more thick).And better packaging.

Classy looking map. I mounted with Loctite spray adhesive on a white, thick board from HD that I had them cut to the same size as the map, then I used command strips to hand on the wall.

Pros: it’s a great size, pretty clear, looks pretty much as pictured.Cons: I only got one map of the USA. The whole reason I opted for this purchase was because it was a 2 pack of the USA and a World map. If you’re expecting a thicker laminated poster, you’ll be disappointed. It’s pretty thin and will tear easily. The laminate is more like glossy paper. I could have looked past the lack of anticipated quality if I had actually received 2 maps.Why am I even giving this 2 stars?!

Quality of maps is good. (As advertised.) However, these maps do not have "antique looks". Continents and states are saturated with color and brightness, much brighter than appears on this website. Because of this, they also do not look "classy." If you are okay with the super-pigmented hues, these might work for you. Would work well in a kid's room or classroom.

The most important parts of any map are accuracy and detail, and these maps strike out in many small ways. I use these maps for my homeschooled kids, and they frustrate me to no end. The lamination is fine, and at a glance, they are wonderful. But the details cut corners everywhere, and anyone well acquainted with geography will get irritated.Is there any reason NOT to have a key for the world map? Or why some countries are in small print with large bold letters for their capitals (which is the country name? kids will never be able to tell). Or why some smaller countries don't have their capital marked at all, while other small dependencies (like New Caledonia) have a capital marked, but no indicator that they are actually a French territory? Most small islands have no indication of who owns them, which is a major detail and would be easily correctible. Many small islands that are part of a nearby country are unexplainably in a different color, adding to the confusion (Is this someone else's territory? Are they independent?). And with all the colors that are available to a map-maker, why on earth are some countries that share a color touching each other? (this happens twice in Africa, an unforgivable error on any map). Large areas have no towns marked at all. I grant that there are no major cities in Greenland, but would it kill you to use some of that dead space to indicate where there is human life? Meanwhile, they took the trouble to include all the detailed underwater topography, as if that is an integral part of a political map. All that does is obscure most of the island nations in Oceania.The US map is slightly better, but suffers from similar sloppiness. It includes a key (which is an improvement) but it is incomplete (why are some town dots circled? the key has no answer...) I've seem some dots for towns that are completely unlabeled. The same sloppiness can be found on the island colorings again (why are some of the islands in Puget Sound a different color from the rest of Washington? Why on earth are the Outer Banks yellow if the rest of North Carolina is red?) Some islands are pink and unmarked; the eastern part of Virginia is a different shade of green from the rest.Again, if you just want them as more of a decoration than a teaching tool, they are fine. But if you have an eye for detail at all, it will annoy you every time you look at them.

High value for the price, excellent choice ! Updated to year in geo-political view, the two maps show high quality graphics, strong laminated.

These maps are large and good quality with clear, precise print. The word "laminated" was misleading to me though. I expected a heavier lamination, this is more of a "coating" than lamination. You can write on it with a dry erase but I would like to frame them because they seem like they would tear if pulled on.

Kristin Einberger has worked with older adults for 30 years, most of it with people with cognitive impairment. In the last few years, she has focused her time on early memory loss. She developed and facilitated two social day programs for people experiencing early memory loss and assisted in starting another. Currently, she facilitates one of these programs in Fairfield, California. She is also the program coordinator for a senior day program in Northern California. Kristin has presented at numerous local, state, and national conferences, including the Alzheimer’s Association, Brookdale Foundation, American Society on Aging, and the California Council for Adult Education. She has partnered with Janelle Sellick to author a technical manual for the Brookdale Foundation on Creating an Early Memory Loss Program. In addition, she has written an activity card set titled Sharpen Your Senses. Kristin has also written many articles on the same subject.

Now, while reading this, expand the focus from your breath to the sensation of your body, your bottom against your seat perhaps, or the way the tip of your nose might feel cold or hot. Further expand the field of awareness to the sounds around you. Maybe you hear noise from other people. Maybe you hear nothing except the sound of your own breathing.Project this mode of being aware into another setting. Perhaps you're at work, and someone is telling you how to do something. You might feel seeds of resentment growing inside you, asking the question in your mind how it is this person has the gall to tell you how do so something. You might feel personally attacked, a little nervous, your breath unsteady. Be aware of these sensations. Don't fight against them. But also listen to what the person says, as much as possible, without judgment. Is what this person is saying really a personal attack? Probably not. And if it is, does it really matter? Does he or she have control of your mind such that he could actually make you feel one way or another? Not if you choose to respond to it in a peaceful, proactive way and just take it for what it is, without judgment.Maybe the above two paragraphs don't do it for you. Or maybe they do. The important thing is that mindfulness is about being aware and awake, and about choosing to make peace with the way you feel and the way you interact with the world. If you want to, you can always feel swept around by the winds of desire, or pulled around by anger or intense emotion as though there were a brass ring in your nose. Those are always options. But it's also another option to choose to practice inner tranquility. This is what this book is about.

I was looking for a refresher on mindfulness and a text to help guide me deeper into the practice. I can say this book delivered on both fronts. The chapters tend to be short and easy to read. Much of it comes across like listening to a talk from a great professor that leaves the technical details for the reading assignments. Using that as a metaphor, "Wherever you go, there you are" is the warm lecture from a caring teacher. "Full Catastrophe Living" (his more scientific and serious book) is the full corpus of research and exercises and concepts underlying the teacher's lecture.Much like in college, you can skip the lecture if you master the corpus, but it's best to do both of you can. That said, anyone looking to really understand the methodology behind mindfulness and how it can be applied in a secular way to the suffering of the human condition, must read the aforementioned "Full Catastrophe Living". It's absolutely essential as the single book I would recommend to anyone for learning how to approach working with the present moment in ways that encourage insight and healing.This book "Wherever you go , there you are" is nice but it won't provide the depth of instruction for practice as used in the medical setting or the science behind the mechanisms that make mindfulness so effective for many people.

This book is fantastic. I wish everyone would read it. The chapters are short and you can just pick it up and read a chapter from the middle if you need a little something, and you'll have a fresh, happy brain. Or read it cover to cover and then read it again.I also got the audiobook and have been listening -- but I need a printed copy to refer back to. I am so glad I bought this. My friends are buying it, too!

At some point in your life, you may begin to wonder, "Will things always be this way?" - so rushed, with barely a moment to call your own, and current events that swirl around you often reflecting the worst side of humanity. So lost in to-do lists that you barely know where they stop and you start. Or have you thought, "Will I always be this way?" - maybe anxious or irritated, perhaps distracted, or beginning to feel isolated from those around you - even from your loved ones? This book explains that living each moment fully (and what that phrase means) can bring you back to yourself, and to a peaceful yet connected stillness that ultimately enriches your life. It describes the discipline and detached self observation (i.e., meditation) required to achieve it. I found this book to best read in small sections, and I plan to re-read many times. In retrospect, I would buy next in paper form (not Kindle). It is filled with insightful and (if you let it) life-changing information.

You should probably read this if you are a human being in the 21st century. I was originally turned on to Mindfulness four years ago, but this book revived in me some of the peace of mind that I have lost over those years while helping me make new revelations about how to live mindfully in this hectic age. I recommend this book to anyone who has ever struggled with anxiety, panic, or self worth issues. This practice gives you the ability to examine your own thought process without getting looped into any of your usual negative hang-ups. I read it often, finish it sometimes, and read favorite passages whenever I get too world-weary and down on myself. It's a great resource to have around the house.

This is a great book. I have had probably 5 or 6 copies of this book over the years as it's one that I consistently give to other people. It is a perfect, easy to read, practical book that demonstrates the underlying principles of mindfulness in a very down to earth way. It was certainly one of many "gateway" books for me many years ago, and others have told me that they have had similar experiences.Truly one of my favorites and one that I recommend to many.

The book provided a strong introduction to the cloud world. That being said the focus of the book is really on the high level, you will not receive details on how Amazon has configured its cloud service outside of explanations of what IaaS / PaaS is. And you know what - that is ok - this is a good introduction to the topic of cloud computing.The AWS books (i.e. Amazon Web Services for Dummies) are too technical - this book has a good niche.I would recommend this for the project manage that wants to learn a little bit about cloud - or the architect that is coming over from a different field (i.e. security or networking) and likes to start at the very beginning.That being said - this isn't a "dummies book to cloud" - its further along than that. You sill need to understand architecture and other advanced computing topics to get the full value of the book

Recommend for anyone working in or with Cloud Services. The ideas presented were futuristic for its time, but have come to be true.

It's hard finding objective, realistic advice on all things cloud but the author has done a very good job of doing just that. After the first few chapters it became very obvious the author had a lot of experience within corporate IT not just startups. That is a critical piece for those of us in the corporate IT environment where advice on the cloud usually comes from pundits, vendors and others far removed from the reality of the challenges enterprise IT shops face. There is no technology bias or vendor bias in the book and although the author has a lot of experience with AWS he does not try and sell it for all your solutions.The book takes you through a roadmap and foundational concepts about how to approach your applications and the cloud whether you are in enterprise IT or a nice greenfield startup. Some of the concepts are available in other places but you will be hard pressed to fine a more concise ordered guide. The author also provides lots of references to other information throughout the chapters.There are a lot of concepts covered including Rest based API's, Cloud Types, Devops, Security and Compliance (really good) as well as organization impacts. You will probably discover as I did about half way through the book that 99.9 of the stuff that is covered is a great foundation for a modern enterprise IT shop whether headed to the cloud or not. I ended up bookmarking about a million things which is always a good sign.I've done three enterprise IT cloud projects and I sorely wish I would have had this book before starting them. Although I'm going back to explore some of the chapters in more detail, the book was easy to get through in a weekend. I highly recommend reading it.

This was a good read for me. As a solution architect that is looking to do more work with cloud infrastructures, this was very informative. It provided discussion of new and unfamiliar technologies (for me) which was starting point for my further research.

This was an incredible book if you're an IT nerd like me. It explained cloud concepts clearly, and helped me apply the knowledge to my job easily.

Great overview of what to look for and what to avoid in moving to a cloud architecture. While getting a bit dated in some of the information, the design principles are sound and so are the use cases. It does not get too deep into the technical areas, which allows it to be useful for management and C levels as well as technically focused people just getting started into cloud computing.Also short enough for people who are terminally busy to finish.

I was trained in Cranial Sacral 14 years ago and have kept using it over the years, but now that I am practicing this more full time I ordered a few books for reference and progression of the practice. This book is a really amazing guide that breaks down the systems, the bones and even goes over basic techniques in the end of the book. Easy to read and follow, great reference book for sure!

I'm in a class for Cranial/Sacral with a teacher who isn't very good at teaching. Frustrated with the lack of materials, a general disorderly method of giving what he does know, and his very slim instruction in palpation, I began a search for a book to help me get what I wanted. This book is fantastic! It clearly lays out the 10 step protocol and gives great tips for discovering the rhythm through palpation. The illustrations are helpful as well. I was quickly loosing any interest in a subject (CST) that I have been wanting to learn for years but this book saved the day! I showed it to my teacher and he said that it would be a good text book to use for his classes in the future. I hope, for their sake, he does.

 This is the fourth storybook coloring book I have purchased by Jae Eun Lee. I know that there is a fifth one due out this year and I am sincerely hoping that there will be more next year. I had some issues with the first book in the series (“Anne of Green Gables”) having too many story pages as opposed to coloring pages but each book since then has had a much better mix. I also prefer that much of the story is now incorporated into the coloring pages rather than taking up a page by itself. To be fair, those story pages have very elaborate designs to color as well but I wanted more of the actual designs to color.In this book the mix 18 story pages and 50 design pages for a total of 68 actual storybook pages. There are also four pages of thumbnails of the images and nine other pages (preface, forward, and title pages or those pages following the end of the story) which have designs that you can color.Once again, the pages are beautifully illustrated with highly romanticized images. The designs are detailed but are not intricate with tiny elements. I was easily able to color using just the standard pencil point.This is the story based on the original book by L. Frank Baum. The story is certainly not complete, so you will want to keep a copy of the book along with it. The “story” included just gives a little bit of foundation to the pictures which immediately follow it but will not give anyone reading it a real idea of what the story is fully about.For my first project in this coloring book, I chose a picture that included Dorothy, Toto, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow and the Lion. I used my Faber-Castell Polychromos for this book and found that though these, as well as other oil-based pencils did not blend as well as I might like, I liked the way the pencils worked with the paper otherwise and I used them more for layering colors and shading more so than for any blending. For fun, I will use a different brand of colored pencils for coloring each book in this series to give each one a slightly different appearance.Here is what I found in a brief overview:68 pages of Designs and Story Book Illustrations plus extra pages that can be colored as wellPrinted on both sides of pagePages are heavyweight, slightly smooth and non-perforatedGlue BindingSome Designs merge into the bindingSome Designs spread across two pagesAlcohol-based markers bleed through the pageWater-based markers do not bleed throughIndia ink pens do not bleed throughGel pens do not bleed through but require extra drying timeColoring pencils did well in laying down good color with this paper. I found that for the most part both oil and wax based pencils worked well except neither were great for blending. Wax-based pencils did better at blending than did oil-based colors but both were acceptable for my use. Hard lead pencils did not leave dents on the back of the page.

This OZ coloring book is alright. it is VERY detailed, however it seems as if the story line doesnt make sense in a way, which I didnt like. If youre looking for VERY detailed pictures choose this one. If youre looking for a coloring book about OZ with the story line in place and the pictures amazing, I recommend The Wizard of OZ by Attanasio, Fabiana.

This is a Christmas gift for someone but looking through it the pictures look fantastic to color!

Really cool designs, but really elaborate. I wouldn't suggest for small kids, but great for adults.

I bought this book for my mother as a gift. She's been a diehard fan of the Wizard of Oz ever since she was a little girl and she loves adult coloring books. (I recently even talked her into prisma colored pencils due to her sudden obsession with these)I decided before I gave her this book that I'd check out the quality of everything and make sure it wouldn't be a poor gift.Reading the story was a little strange because I've only ever been showed the movie. Personally I found it very child-friendly and enjoyed it. The graphics quality were, as an artist, highly impressive. I've seen a lot of people do repeat pages or designs in these books and I've found it highly offensive and lazy. This particular book, however, was not the case.The book itself was thick from how solid the pages were-- and there were a good few pages to nod a nod of approval to.I find myself to be a very cynical artist and horribly picky with what I give my friends and family because of it. This book is very high on my approval list and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking to give a gift or wanting something whimsical and of good quality for personal reasons. I can even admit that I was a little upset with myself for not purchasing two by the time it was all said and done with so I'd have a copy for myself. Amazing work-- highest of props to the artist.

If you want to convince someone about changing in any organisation recommend this book.There is a great story behind "Our Iceberg is Melting". In fact, if you are in the middle of a transformation you would realise about eachpinguïn (character) on it.Last but not least, there is a short video on Youtube played for the author of the book that illustrate the process of changing.

Change Management 101. Of all the principles, models, and frameworks I've learned through my recently completed MBA program, the Kotter model for change management will undoubtedly stick with me the most. And I really believe that this book is the reason for that resonance.Written in a style that everyone can understand, even possibly my 3 year old daughter, this short, illustrated book, offers a crash course in effective change management. I couldn't help but look at my organization in a different light after walking through the 8 steps explained in the book. Ever since, I can asses any new situation where change is in question by asking how it applies to the "penguin book." If you haven't read this and are involved in any organization that could benefit from any type of change, I highly recommend you give it a read.

"Our iceberg is melting" is a small and very (too?) easy to read book that mainly consists of a fable about penguins who notice that they need to change. The penguins then happened to follow Kotter's eight-step process of successful change, so you can learn this eight-step process by learning from the penguins :)The first 100 pages in the book is the fable about penguins who need to move to a new home as they discovered their iceberg is melting. They convince the senior management penguins and plan the change with a selected team of change agents. They manage to convince the other penguins that action is needed, get a quick win and manage to successfully change.After that, there are a few pages explaining the eight-step process for change that was taken from John Kotter's research and his earlier books on managing change. The pages aren't enough to get an in-depth understanding of Kotter's research, but for that, you will need to read Kotter's other work.The story was easy to read as it was simple (simplistic?). I found it mildly interesting. There wasn't much news in this book if you are already familiar with Kotter's research, but then again it doesn't take much time to read as the book is very thin. The book wasn't bad, but I would probably not recommend it to anyone either as it was definitively not a book that impressed me. I was thinking about 2 or 3 stars. Decided to go with 3 as it does seem to achieve its own purpose. Just ok.

If you work in a large bureaucracy, this book is a MUST read. If you are frustrated by the lack of change in y9our organization, this is a MUST READ. This book was like a therapist.

At the suggestion of a colleague, I ordered multiple copies for the board of my church. I asked them to read it, then used the book for discussion during a considerable portion of a full-day retreat. Everyone related to it well. It was neither too academic nor patronizing for the career professionals who participated.

This book was pretty fun to read. I had to read it for an assignment and the entire analogy is pretty obvious, but it really comes together at the end when the 8 steps are written out and explained. It is a very useful book as I used the 8 step method in one of my student groups and we saved 3 days of planning when an event we wanted to put on was not working. It was really impressive how effective the result was and how stupid I felt for how obvious it was to get to these results. Very effective book and very helpful as well to any student of management or even officers of a student group.

I really enjoyed the story and it does allow me to remember more with it being a fable. The only thing it's that the audiobook seems to be off a different version ... Even though there is no immersion reading for this title (which I wish there were). It's a good book for my integrated studies class
