I bought this for the kids in the daycare but it was a little bit too much for three-year-olds. The book was cute .. 🐻

Daughter loves it

Curious George stories are great stories for toddlers. The newer books capture just enough of H. A. Rey ' s original artwork to be true to the George character. The Big City story shows George, as usual, getting into trouble and getting lost but through using his head he finds his way back. This book also teaches generosity through George's wanting to give his friend a gift. All the George books teach wonderful lessons to little kids. Now if I can just get my 4-year old grandson to speak something other than "monkey"....

as a new yorker, my son gets a kick out of George in the city. When he lost his favorite stuffed animal lovey he said it was likely lost in the city like George. Helped him get over the loss.

We loooooove Curious George books!!! All of them!

All kids should have at least ONE Curious George book! I bought tons of them for my nephew on his first birthday. Can't really say more than that - they're classic.

As a Curious George lover myself, I'm happy that my 2-year-old loves him, too. This book is more like classic George than the newer movies that have been made.

I prefer the George goes to library (well, my son does;) and other books but we do love all George books. :)

I purchased this on Kindle expecting the complete text. Howeever, in my expectations, the most important part, the symptom identifier, are not included! The book says they are on the inside cover and the inside cover, for whatever STUPID reason, isn't included. The book itself is very helpful. Shame they blew it up and wasted the book by excluding THE most important part (the reason I purchased the book to start with!).

Many years ago I bought a veterinary book for dogs and it served as a wealth of information over 30 years caring for my 2 dogs throughout their lives. Now I have cats and wanted to be able to also have a wealth of information at my fingertips for emergencies (it seems emergencies always happen on weekends or after hours when the vet offices are closed or no emergency vet is available), basic first aid and home care (when it is safe to not see a vet).In life, I also wanted to be a veterinarian, because my connection with animals is so strong. Such as life does not always go as planned I did not fulfill my dream but still have a strong connection with animals and every now and then will foster a homeless kitten or nurse a sick kitten back to health.This book is not necessarily outdated, as it was published in 2008. I bought the hardback copy and am impressed with the quality of this book being printed on nice paper that is not thin, the print is dark and readable and there is a table of contents in the front and an index in back for quick reference.Like some reviewers have suggested there are pictures of sad, sick cats that are in black and white (my guess is that color photos would be greatly traumatic to view as the black and white versions are heartbreaking enough to view). The pictures, no matter how sad are necessary for properly knowing what illness your cat may have in an emergency situation and these are what makes the book even more valuable.In my experience, it is better to be prepared than not. If you think about it, don't most homes already have a first aid kit and if you have kids, you have supplies on hand for cuts, coughs, and other minor first aid emergencies - so why not do the same for your fur babies?After caring for both of my dogs from puppyhood (one bottle baby) till their old age I learned many things about emergencies and preparedness. Now that I have cats, I am also learning that cats are not as resilient as dogs are and at least being able to understand the basic first aid of cats gives me some comfort that if I ever needed to, I will know how to respond.*Note* In my photos I took the paper cover off the book, but it does arrive exactly as shown in the description pictures Amazon shows. I just don't like the paper cover because they never stay in place when the book is open.

Every cat owner should own this book. It will tell you what your allopathic (traditional) vet will tell you, in more detail. Every cat owner should also own the classic alternative or natural cat care books by Richard Pitcairn and homeopathic book by Don Hamilton, which has been my mainstay and has saved my cat's life. I had the original edition for years and I always get the new edition whenever they publish. I can look up my cat's symptoms and know whether I should go to emergency or whether it can wait. These books are invaluable.

Excellent book. I've changed my home entirely for the benefit of my cats. As a person living by myself, I would never have gotten anything like a first aid kit in case of an actual human emergency. But now that I feel like I have a life depending on me, I've used the book's advice and begun brushing my cat's teeth daily, feeding him high quality food and of course, using the useful list they had in the book to gather a first aid kit. I keep my floor spotless now, in case my cat tries to eat any bits off of it, especially string. I have a different perspective about how to be a cat owner, and how much I can do to help my little tabby live a long full life.

One of those must have books for anyone with a cat. Every pet owner should have a veterinary book around for those questions that come up, yet don't seem bad enough to run to the vet. This is a pretty complete book that I use and have given to others. You do have to get past some sad pictures of sick cats, but better to avoid it and have it there should you need to see that photo, then to not have it there at all. (As an aside: Female cats are very susceptible to breast cancer. Check the underside of your cat regularly for odd bumps or rope like lumps. If detected early, it can save their life.)

Just got my book with one day shipping. It arrived on time and the book is amazing. I would recommend this to anyone who is a cat parent or looking to become one. The only unsavory item I have found so far is the recommendation of the synthetic vitamin Menadione as being part of your cat's dietary needs. Vitamin K is fine, but it's synthetic version is NOT. It can cause liver toxicity and no one needs that on their plate. In other words, the book is great, but cross referencing is always important!

Not quite as good as "The Merck" but still a good read. It is easy to read, especially for those that don't read often enough and are out of form. You don't need a more developed vocabulary and the book is based on general concepts for pet owners with expanded detail on the most important topics. There is little specific medical information supplied with a breakdown of each illness, instead the book focuses on the needs of your cat, what to look out for in terms of health issues and what actions to take when things are looking that great. The authors are both medical/veterinary doctors who have put together a great book that can help any layperson look after their fur baby with confidence. That is, with a better understanding of both their general Cat Owner's Home Veterinary Handbook, Fully Revised and Updatedhealth and medical needs to ensure they have a happy life that compliments their owners.

And if you just want to look up a "why does he do that..." its great to have a reference. So much is online now, but not documented or authoritative. We noticed that in addition to DVMs, there was an MD involved in writing the book. Recommended.

About the Author

Gregory Byrne Bracken is from Ireland and is a Fellow of the International Institute of Asian Studies at Leiden University in the Netherlands. He has a Ph.D. from the Architecture Faculty of the Technical University of Delft, also in the Netherlands, where he got his Masters of Science Degree in Urbanism (graduating cum laude) in 2004. He received a Diploma in Architecture from Bolton Street College of Technology, Dublin and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture from Trinity College Dublin, both in 1992 (graduating with Distinction in Thesis). Prior to undertaking postgraduate studies in the Netherlands, Dr Bracken worked as an architect in Bangkok and Singapore, travelling extensively throughout Asia.
