The book is not for beginners but it's definitely a way to get started on device drivers. It's not a tutorial, but a comprehensive set of information about the subject with plenty of textual explanations and flowcharts. Due to the complexity of the subject I think there should be more examples than the 4 complete ones presented in the end. It has over 500 pages, 6 chapters and 8 appendices. To take full advantage of this book it's necessary to get a copy of OS/2 1.x, MASM 5.1, Microsoft C 5.1 and Microsoft OS/2 1.x SDK, alongside Microsoft DDK and IBM OS/2 Technical Reference v1.1.I would definitely recommend this book for those willing to know more about system programming. That's so even if not particularly interested on OS/2 in which case it could suit at least as quite sounding study case.
